About me

Hi, my name is Tamara. In my Sweet Café International, I am connecting you to inspiring people I met and places I’ve visited to serve you an exquisite selection of naturally sweet recipes from all around the world.

I was born sweet, not joking! Sweet – Süß – is my maiden name. That matches perfectly, don’t you think? And it may be the reason why I prefer a dessert to each main dish – if it’s handmade with love and of natural ingredients.

For some time now I am lactose intolerant, so I only use plant-based milk products and often bake and cook vegan. That’s why here at SWEET CAFÉ INTERNATIONAL I accept the challenge to provide alternatives to classic desserts at a high level in addition to already purely plant-based recipes.

I was writing about food while I still studied sociology – focusing research about critical media effects. Many insights about the power of images and language have sustainable impacted my work.

For over ten years I support the communication of various companies, agencies, and organizations. My personal goal was always to combine readers and senders. It was successful when I was totally convinced about the topic. Today, this is my basic requirement to accept an offer. (Look here if you are interested in my service)

For many years photography was just a hobby. Now it is one part of my profession I especially love.

With my husband and my two kids, I am living in a suburb of Frankfurt – central but surrounded by beautiful nature that is a partly protected area. There are even farmers selling their products which I think is just wonderful.

We love to be outside. I especially love to be on my bike. The longer my way, the more ideas I develop: The idea for this blog for example. I still remember that sunny spring day and the feeling when I realized: A blog about naturally sweet specialties from all around the world, that’s exactly what I want to do!

The idea

SWEET CAFÉ INTERNATIONAL is a place for epicures and explorers. For people who are preparing naturally sweet recipes with passion and craftsmanship and let us be a part of that: From the old lady living in a mountain village somewhere in this world over a 3-stars chef of patissier in one of the best restaurants to manufacturers who are offering an excellent product.

To find these people and connect you with them I will travel. But very often I will just stay in my hometown Frankfurt – it’s the most international city in Germany, and with people from 180 different nations living here, there are a lot of interesting stories, fantastic food, and sweet specialties right at my front door.

Perspectively, I’d love to expand SWEET CAFÉ INTERNATIONAL and initiate real ‘encounters’. I have many ideas. But I can only implement them with YOUR support.

Naturally sweet recipes

Some recipes I develop myself. Others I bring along.

Naturally sweet means first and foremost: I use no refined sugar and add just enough sweetener to underline the foods natural flavor.

I develop vegan alternatives to classic recipes. Other recipes are purely vegan. Depending on your personal taste and lifestyle they can, of course, be prepared with dairy products.

For maximum pleasure, I recommend buying the best ingredients. On this basis, my recipes should turn out at your home as good as here at my place.
